Using Her Gifts

Every minute is for observation and making connections.” ~ Cherel Ito

Alertness and sensitivity to the world, at large, enables a gifted photographer to capture an image and tell a story without words. Verbal exchange between a gifted photographer and subject is rarely necessary.

Photographer Cherel Ito’ s life was devoted to making a special connection with her subjects. This extraordinarily gifted photographer knew that all that was needed to connect the viewer with her images, was her ability to capture depth in the details. Many times, the details were in the faces in her subjects, sometimes not. She knew when to “snap the camera” at the precise moment, to tell truthful stories, through images of people and cultures around the world.
